Chester (2009 – 2025)
The oldest of the “rascal gang” and one with a very unique character. He loves doing things his own way and only what he enjoys. In his younger years, he would often chase after rabbits—he’d
look at you, completely ignore your warnings, and be off in an instant.
Chester came to us in 2012 as a temporary rehoming, but that “temporary” quickly turned into a permanent family member. Together with his half-brothers Pandoer and Harley, they earned the nickname “The Three Musketeers” or “The Rascal Gang.” A wonderful brotherhood!
Now, Chester is nearly 16 years old (in July), and the years are definitely catching up with him. Despite being deaf, blind in one eye, and living with dementia, he still finds joy in life. We hope he’ll be able to enjoy another beautiful boating holiday this summer.
On Saturday, August 23rd, we had to say goodbye to Chester with a very heavy heart. We are grateful that he was still able to be part of this summer, even though things were getting harder for him towards the end. Because of this, we decided to return home earlier so we could say goodbye to him in the comfort of his familiar surroundings.
We have lost a dear companion once again…
